Ethiopian Airlines launches the four-weekly direct flight between Addis Ababa and Manchester Airports.
The first ever Ethiopian Airlines Dreamliner Boeing 787 - ET728 touched down at Manchester Airport on the 11 Dec 2018 commencing the 4 times weekly direct flight to Addis Ababa on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday via Brussels with an hour stop both directions.
The flight departure is from Manchester(MAN) Terminal Two at 18:05, arriving at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport at 06:45, providing significant onward connectivity options to the African continent.
Return flights depart Addis Ababa(ADD) at 00:45 and arrive in to Manchester at 07:20 and have been scheduled to provide convenient connectivity with flights from the African continent in to Addis Ababa.
The route opens up 60 connections across Africa including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania.
Manchester airport is the second gateway into the UK, having been operating into London for the past 46 years. The level of flight booking to and from Manchester already looking healthy may help the airline to reconsider a non-stop flight to Addis Ababa hub without stopping in Brussels in the near future which will make journey time shorter for Addis Ababa and connecting flight to the rest of Africa.
Welcoming of selected guests to experience what the airline offers on Ethiopian Airlines in flight services was a wonderful experience and a great marketing effort.
Some people are asking if there is a possibility that Ethiopian Airlines to start operation from Birmingham, but that needs extensive research by Ethiopian Marketing to identify profitability.
